Understand the itinerary
A non-stop flight operates between two airports without an intermediate stop. The word direct can sometimes describe a flight with a stop, so ask for the full itinerary. For a connecting journey, note each flight number, airport, terminal and local departure or arrival date.
Through tickets and separate bookings
A single through ticket and two independent tickets can have different arrangements when a flight is delayed. One agency invoice is not proof that all sectors form a through ticket. Ask the seller to explain the ticketing structure, baggage transfer and missed-connection arrangements before payment.
Allow for what happens in transit
A suitable connection depends on terminals, security checks, immigration and the traveller’s needs. A transfer that is manageable for one person may be difficult for a family or a passenger needing assistance. Check whether a terminal or airport change is required and ask about the expected walking or transfer process.
Check transit documentation
Visa and transit conditions depend on your nationality, documents, routing and whether you enter the transit country. Do not assume that remaining inside an airport always removes visa requirements. Confirm current requirements with official authorities and the airline before buying a restrictive ticket.
Compare the journey you can manage
Consider sleep, meals, arrival time and onward transport alongside price. If a long connection adds accommodation, check who pays and whether it is arranged. Ask us to compare your realistic priorities: fewer stops, a particular arrival day, shorter travel time or a manageable budget.
